About the role#
Baylor University is seeking a Student Worker to serve as a Fitness Instructor/Trainer for the FitWell program. This role involves leading group exercise sessions, including F45 classes, and supporting the health and wellness initiatives of the campus community.
What you'll do#
- Plan, develop, and lead safe and effective group fitness classes based on recognized guidelines.
- Observe participants to ensure proper technique, posture, and movement for safety.
- Provide guidance on routine fitness and wellness questions.
- Maintain the safety, security, and cleanliness of the facility and equipment.
- Collaborate with the team to implement risk reduction measures and respond to emergency situations.
- Deliver excellent customer service to all clients and visitors.
What you'll need#
- A nationally recognized group exercise certificate.
- Ability to motivate members during class sessions.
- Must pass a State of Texas criminal background check.
- CPR certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Previous teaching or training experience is preferred but not required.
- Preferred majors include Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Public Health.
Location & details#
- Location: McLane Student Life Center, Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2027.
- Schedule: 6-20 hours per week, with shifts available between 5:45 AM and 10:00 PM.
- Compensation: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour.
