About the role#
This position involves instructing FitWell Group X classes, including F45, at the McLane Student Life Center. You will work 6 to 20 hours per week within a schedule that ranges from 5:45 AM to 10:00 PM.
What you'll do#
- Plan and lead safe, effective group fitness classes using recognized guidelines.
- Observe participants to ensure proper technique, posture, and safety.
- Maintain the security and cleanliness of fitness equipment and the facility.
- Offer advice and resources to help members with fitness and wellness questions.
- Collaborate with the team to manage risk and provide care during emergencies.
- Encourage the campus community to maintain an active lifestyle.
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors.
What you'll need#
- A nationally recognized group exercise certificate.
- Ability to pass a State of Texas criminal background check.
- CPR certification, which you must obtain within 30 days of starting.
- Skills to motivate members during class sessions.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- While teaching experience is not required, it is preferred.
- Students in Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Public Health are encouraged to apply.
