About the role#
This position involves instructing and training FitWell Group X classes, including F45, within the Campus Recreation department. The role focuses on promoting active and healthy lifestyles for the campus community while maintaining facility safety and standards.
What you'll do#
- Plan, develop, and lead safe and effective group fitness classes based on recognized guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service to all clients and visitors.
- Ensure the safety, maintenance, and security of the facility and equipment.
- Observe participants to ensure proper technique, body posture, and movement for safety.
- Offer appropriate advice and resources regarding routine fitness and wellness questions.
- Collaborate with the team to execute risk reduction measures and provide emergency care when necessary.
- Assist with assigned tasks and participate in various health and recreation activities.
What you'll need#
- A nationally recognized group exercise certificate.
- Ability to motivate members during class sessions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must pass a State of Texas criminal background check.
- CPR certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Previous teaching or training experience is preferred but not required.
- Current students in Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Public Health are encouraged to apply.
Location & details#
- Location: McLane Student Life Center, Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2027.
- Schedule: 6 to 20 hours per week, with shifts available between 5:45 AM and 10:00 PM.
- Work Modality: On-site.
