About the role#
The Fitness Center Attendant position supports the Baylor University Campus Recreation department by maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff. This role focuses on promoting healthy lifestyle practices through cardiovascular and muscular fitness engagement.
What you'll do#
- Provide quality customer service to all patrons.
- Greet visitors and track attendance.
- Clean and organize gym equipment, ensuring the safe use of all exercise machines.
- Educate patrons on Fitness Center policies and assist with spotting as needed.
- Perform business operations duties and assist with various projects related to the facility.
- Prioritize tasks, take initiative, and comply with University policies.
What you'll need#
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Demonstrated time management skills and professionalism.
- Capability to perform moderate to heavy lifting to organize equipment.
- Enrollment in relevant fields such as Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Public Health is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: McLane Student Life Center, Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
- Schedule: Minimum of 7 hours per week, with shifts available between 5:45 AM and Midnight, Sunday through Saturday. Weekend availability is required.
- Compensation: $10.00 per hour.
