Student Worker - Fitness Center Attendant - Fall 2026/Spring 2027 - BC

About the role#

The Fitness Center Attendant position supports the Baylor University Campus Recreation department by maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff. This role is responsible for daily operations within the McLane Student Life Center and requires a commitment to customer service and facility safety.

What you'll do#

• Greet patrons and track attendance.
• Clean, organize, and ensure the safe use of all exercise equipment.
• Educate patrons on Fitness Center usage policies and assist with spotting as needed.
• Perform business operations duties and assist with various projects and tasks related to assigned areas of responsibility.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance and comply with all university policies.

What you'll need#

• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Proven time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• A professional demeanor.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting to organize gym equipment.
• Preferred majors include Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Public Health.

Location & details#

• Location: Waco, Texas (McLane Student Life Center).
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Term: Fall 2026, Spring 2027, Fall 2027, and Winter 2027.
• Schedule: Minimum of 7 hours per week, with availability required between 5:45 AM and Midnight, Sunday through Saturday (weekends required).
• Compensation: $10.00/hour.
