Student Worker - Fitness Center Attendant

About the role#

The Fitness Center Attendant provides quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment. This role supports the mission of Campus Recreation by assisting patrons with fitness equipment and ensuring facility policies are followed.

What you'll do#

• Greet patrons and track facility attendance.
• Educate patrons on Fitness Center usage policies and ensure the safe operation of exercise equipment.
• Clean, organize, and maintain the facility, which includes moderate to heavy lifting of gym equipment.
• Assist with various projects, activities, and tasks related to business operations.
• Provide support to patrons, including spotting as needed.

What you'll need#

• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Professionalism, time management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to comply with all University policies.
• Minimum availability of 7 hours per week.
• Preferred majors include Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Real Estate.

Location & details#

• Location: McLane Student Life Center, Waco, Texas.
• Terms: Fall 2027 and Winter 2028.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule requirements: Availability between 5:45 AM and Midnight, Sunday through Saturday, including weekends.
