About the role#
This position supports the mission of World Hunger Relief by assisting with the daily operations and maintenance of the farm. The role involves maintaining the farm grounds to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for education, research, and sustainable agriculture efforts. This is a paid, part-time student worker position.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the daily operation and maintenance of the farm.
- Perform general farm upkeep, including mowing, weed trimming, and landscaping.
- Complete basic repairs and construction projects.
- Handle event setup and teardown.
- Move materials and organize workspaces.
- Collaborate with external community service partners as needed.
What you'll need#
- Dependability and self-motivation.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfort working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to learn new skills and a strong work ethic.
- Preferred majors include Agriculture, Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, or Communications.
Location & details#
- Location: Spring Lake Farm, Waco, Texas.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 8 to 20 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, with potential for Saturday shifts.
- Term: Fall 2026 and ongoing.
