About the role#
The School of Music at Baylor University is seeking students to capture ensemble concerts and opera performances through photography and videography. This role is intended for students in media studies, graphic design, communications, or journalism who wish to build their portfolios. Content produced will be used for university websites, print materials, signage, and social media.
What you'll do#
- Attend assigned School of Music ensemble and opera events to capture photo and video content using both provided camera equipment and mobile phones.
- Compose shots that reflect the energy and artistry of live performances while following creative direction and provided shot lists.
- Process and edit photos and videos using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Organize all content into shared folders with clear, consistent file naming conventions.
- Deliver mobile phone footage within 24 hours and edited photography within one week of the event.
- Maintain clear communication regarding availability and content delivery deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Experience with photo and video editing software.
- Technical knowledge and the ability to properly care for camera equipment.
- Ability to physically transport and set up equipment, including tripods.
- Familiarity with music performance etiquette to ensure content is captured in a non-disruptive manner.
- Ability to comply with all University policies and maintain punctual attendance.

- Location: Waco, Texas (McCrary Music Building/Roxy Grove).
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Primarily evenings (typically 7:30 p.m.) and weekends (typically 3:00 p.m.).
- Compensation: This is a paid position at $10.00 per hour.
