About the role#
This student worker position supports the daily operations of the Clothesline retail store through Mission Waco. The role provides hands-on experience in non-profit retail, focusing on customer service, store merchandising, and community engagement. This is a paid, part-time position requiring 10 to 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Manage retail sales and operate the cash register for customer transactions.
- Assist with store operations including sorting, tagging, and organizing incoming donations.
- Create and maintain appealing window and floor displays to merchandise products.
- Promote the store through social media marketing and advertising.
- Maintain a safe and clean store environment through general custodial tasks.
- Support the online sales component of the organization when requested.
What you'll need#
- Current eligibility for Federal Work-Study.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and creative display techniques.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including sorting donations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to assist customers and manage donation receipts.
- Willingness to perform all operational tasks required for store management.
- Reliable transportation to the off-campus work site.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Psychology.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, between 8:00am and 4:00pm.
- Term: Fall 2026 with rolling availability.
- Pay: $11.00 to $12.50 per hour, depending on status and skill level.
