About the role#
Certified Personal Trainers provide safe, effective, and positive workout experiences for a diverse population, including students, faculty, staff, and their families. This role involves designing and implementing one-on-one, partner, and group exercise programs tailored to individual goals and fitness levels.
What you'll do#
- Provide excellent customer service to all clients.
- Conduct new client intake processes and perform initial fitness assessments.
- Create and develop exercise programs aligned with client goals and fitness levels.
- Plan and conduct safe training sessions while providing necessary modifications.
- Educate clients on the safe use of exercise equipment and facilities.
- Maintain accurate client documentation, including assessments and session logs.
- Ensure confidentiality of client information and maintain a high level of professionalism.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.
- Assist with departmental special events and report any facility or equipment issues to staff.
What you'll need#
- A nationally recognized Personal Training Certification (e.g., ACE, NASM, NSCA, ACSM).
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Strong knowledge of exercise programming, design, and injury prevention.
- Proficiency in proper spotting techniques and the use of all fitness equipment.
- Ability to positively motivate and support clients.
- Ability to pass a background check and complete Youth Protection Training.

- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Terms: Fall 2027 and Winter 2028.
- Modality: On-site at the McLane Student Life Center.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
