About the role#
Baylor University is hiring a Student Worker to serve as a Certified Personal Trainer. You will provide safe and effective workouts to a diverse group of clients, including students, faculty, staff, and their families. This is a paid, part-time position requiring a minimum of 10 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement exercise programs for individual clients, partners, and groups.
- Provide excellent customer service during every interaction.
- Conduct new client intake processes and fitness assessments.
- Plan and lead training sessions while offering modifications as needed.
- Communicate regularly with clients to manage training schedules.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client assessments and progress.
- Assist with departmental events such as Late Night and Free Week.
- Follow all safety protocols and report equipment or facility issues immediately.
What you'll need#
- A nationally recognized Personal Training Certification (such as ACE, NASM, NSCA, or ACSM).
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Strong knowledge of exercise programming, design, and injury prevention.
- Familiarity with the proper use of fitness equipment and training facilities.
- Proficiency in spotting techniques and safety protocols.
- Ability to motivate and support clients effectively.
- Completion of required Youth Protection Training and a background check.
- Preference is given to students in Kinesiology, Health Administration, Nursing, or Public Health.

- This role is located at the McLane Student Life Center in Waco, Texas.
- The position is on-site and available for the Fall 2027 and Winter 2028 terms.
