About the role#
The Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty is looking for a student assistant to help with daily business operations and project support. You will work directly with the Program Director and Senior Research Associate while contributing to a rural grocery project. This role also involves participating in a pilot student development program, where you will provide feedback to help refine an experiential learning model focused on community impact.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the development and implementation of the rural grocery project.
- Identify, recruit, and support participant communities.
- Collect data and contribute to program evaluation efforts.
- Organize and schedule meetings and events.
- Perform general business operations and provide customer service to clients.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and document lessons learned to improve the student program.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong initiative and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Reliable transportation to the downtown office location.
- Commitment to regular and punctual attendance.
- Ability to follow all university policies.
Location & details#
- Location: 801 Washington Avenue, Suite 100, Waco, Texas.
- Schedule: 10 hours per week, primarily between 8:30 am and 5 pm.
- Employment: Part-time, paid position.
- Term: Rolling, with a preference for Fall and Spring commitment.
