Student Worker - Athletics Tutor

About the role#

Athletics Tutors support the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence by assisting student-athletes with coursework and exam preparation. This role involves in-person tutoring sessions conducted either one-on-one or in small groups of two.

What you'll do#

• Assist students in designated academic subjects or disciplines.
• Foster educational growth by identifying student needs and providing targeted support.
• Prepare for and conduct tutoring sessions, complete required training, and submit session reports.
• Ensure the confidentiality of all pertinent information.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a safe, supportive environment.
• Uphold academic honesty and follow all university policies.

What you'll need#

• A cumulative or major GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Proficiency in specific courses, having earned a grade of B or higher in the subjects you intend to tutor.
• Availability for a minimum of 4 hours per week, including at least one consistent weeknight.
• Majors in Psychology, Communications, or Kinesiology are preferred.

• Location: Simpson Athletic Complex, Waco, Texas.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Terms: Summer 2026 and Fall 2026.
• Compensation: $10.00 per hour.
