About the role#
Athletics Tutors support the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence by assisting student-athletes with coursework and exam preparation. This role involves in-person tutoring sessions conducted either one-on-one or in small groups of two.
What you'll do#
- Assist students in designated academic subjects or disciplines.
- Foster educational growth by identifying student needs and providing targeted support.
- Prepare for and conduct tutoring sessions, complete required training, and submit session reports.
- Ensure the confidentiality of all pertinent information.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a safe, supportive environment.
- Uphold academic honesty and follow all university policies.
What you'll need#
- A cumulative or major GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in specific courses, having earned a grade of B or higher in the subjects you intend to tutor.
- Availability for a minimum of 4 hours per week, including at least one consistent weeknight.
- Majors in Psychology, Communications, or Kinesiology are preferred.

- Location: Simpson Athletic Complex, Waco, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Terms: Summer 2026 and Fall 2026.
- Compensation: $10.00 per hour.
