Student Worker - Arts & Special Collection Research Center - Student Assistant

About the role#

The Arts & Special Collection Research Center at Baylor University is seeking a Student Assistant to provide administrative and operational support. This role involves managing day-to-day tasks, maintaining library operations, and assisting with departmental projects.

What you'll do#

• Provide mid to advanced-level administrative support for daily operations.
• Operate the service desk, including circulation tasks, shelving, and providing limited reference services.
• Serve as the initial point of contact for in-person guests and callers while providing excellent customer service.
• Generate, prepare, and analyze reports or perform forecasting.
• Assist with the planning and coordination of events.
• Maintain internal databases, records, and compliance processes.
• Develop new processes and procedures to improve departmental efficiency.
• Create content or maintain department websites as needed.

What you'll need#

• Ability to comply with all University policies.
• Strong commitment to regular and punctual attendance.
• Ability to manage special projects and initiatives that support departmental goals.
• Preferred majors include Business Administration, Communications, History, or Psychology.

Location & details#

• Location: Moody Library, Waco, Texas.
• Schedule: 12 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.
• Preference is given to candidates available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, or Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.
• Employment term: Rolling/Ongoing.
