About the role#
This student assistant position provides administrative and operational support for the Arts & Special Collection Research Center within the Central Libraries. You will contribute to departmental goals by assisting with daily business functions, special projects, and service desk operations.
What you'll do#
- Provide mid to advanced-level administrative and operational support for daily tasks.
- Serve as an initial point of contact for in-person guests and callers while providing excellent customer service.
- Operate the service desk, including circulation tasks, shelving, and limited reference service.
- Generate, prepare, and analyze reports or perform forecasting.
- Assist with event planning and coordination.
- Maintain internal databases and records.
- Develop and improve departmental processes and procedures.
- Support special projects and initiatives to help meet departmental goals.
What you'll need#
- Ability to comply with all university policies.
- Consistent and punctual attendance.
- Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Currently enrolled as a student, with preference for majors in Business Administration, Communications, History, or Psychology.
Location & details#
- Location: Moody Library, Waco, Texas.
- Schedule: 12 hours per week between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Preference is given to candidates available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, or Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.
- Employment type: Part-time, ongoing.
- Compensation: $10.00 per hour.
