About the role#
The Greater Waco YMCA is seeking students to support after-school programs for elementary school children. This position involves serving as a role model for K-5 students and facilitating a positive environment for learning and development. This is a part-time, paid opportunity for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Supervise and engage children in daily after-school activities.
- Create a safe and fun learning environment.
- Lead groups of children through curriculum and activities, including painting, coloring, singing, and play.
- Work flexible hours during after-school times, typically between 2:30 pm and 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to engage with children.
- This role is open to students across various majors, including Psychology, Sociology, Nursing, Public Health, Human Resources, Urban Planning, Communications, and Art.

- Location: Greater Waco YMCA, Waco, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 5-10 hours per week.
- Compensation: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour.
