About the role#
The Greater Waco YMCA is seeking student workers to support after-school programs for elementary students in Waco ISD. This role focuses on providing a positive environment where children can learn and develop through play. Counselors serve as role models for K-5 students during the school week.
What you'll do#
- Supervise and engage children in a variety of after-school activities.
- Create a safe and fun learning environment for elementary students.
- Lead groups of children through curriculum and activities, including painting, coloring, singing, and active play.
- Facilitate play and learning to help children grow.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to engage with children.
- Preferred majors include Psychology, Sociology, Nursing, Public Health, Human Resources, Urban Planning, Communications, and Art.
Location & details#
- Location: Greater Waco YMCA, Waco, TX.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Schedule: Part-time, 5-10 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 2:30 pm and 6:30 pm.
- Compensation: $13.00 to $14.00 per hour, depending on experience.
