Store Worker

About the role#

The Store Worker supports the operations of the campus food pantry, providing essential services to the student body. This role involves both direct student interaction and behind-the-scenes operational tasks to ensure the pantry remains stocked, organized, and accessible.

What you'll do#

• Welcome and assist students utilizing The Store in a friendly, respectful, and confidential manner.
• Stock shelves, refrigerators, and freezers while maintaining an organized shopping environment.
• Receive, sort, and inventory food donations and deliveries.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishing.
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards throughout the pantry and storage areas.
• Assist with data entry, check-in procedures, and inventory tracking.
• Prepare orders and supplies for campus food distribution sites and special programs.
• Support volunteer groups during service projects and donation drives.
• Assist with campus outreach events, including the Baylor Free Farmers Market and other Basic Needs initiatives.

What you'll need#

• Ability to comply with University policies.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests and callers.
• Ability to monitor inventory levels effectively.
• Preferred majors include Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, Nutrition, Public Health, or Communications.

Location & details#

• Location: Waco, Texas.
• Modality: On-site at The Store.
• Terms: Fall 2026 and Fall 2027.
• Commitment: Minimum of 10 hours per week.
