About the role#
The Office Assistant provides administrative support to the South Russell Hall community at Baylor University. This role serves as a resource for residents, visitors, and staff while contributing to the safety and security of the residential environment. This is a paid, part-time, on-site position for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Monitor door security and alert appropriate staff if issues arise.
- Provide administrative support to residents, including room access assistance and equipment check-out.
- Maintain accurate log books for administrative tasks, including maintenance issues, equipment, lost and found, and gift registries.
- Help residents communicate concerns to hall staff.
- Enforce and uphold Campus Living and Learning policies and procedures.
- Complete additional administrative tasks as assigned by the Residence Hall Director.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in typing.
- Ability to learn and use computer programs for front desk functions.
- Strong customer service skills to support a diverse population.
- Effective time management and the ability to work on a team.
- Sound judgment to respond appropriately to needs or crises.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Communications, and Psychology.
Location & details#
- Location: South Russell Hall, Waco, Texas.
- Schedule: 5 to 20 hours per week, with shifts available between 7 a.m. and 1 a.m.
- Compensation: $8.00 per hour.
