IT Help Desk Consultant (Law School)

About the role#

The IT Help Desk Consultant provides essential support to the Baylor Law School community. This position involves maintaining IT equipment, assisting faculty, staff, and students with technical needs, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Law Library help desk. This is a paid, on-site student position for the Fall 2026 term.

What you'll do#

• Provide general office assistance and support, including greeting visitors and answering inquiries.
• Troubleshoot common IT problems and respond to technical inquiries from the Law School community.
• Monitor and maintain printers by checking ink and paper levels and resolving paper jams.
• Assist with the setup and takedown of portable audio/video systems for classes and events.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and organization, managing supplies such as paper and toner.
• Document resolved issues and shift tasks in the IT Help Desk log.
• Handle special projects and additional duties as assigned by IT staff.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a Baylor University undergraduate or law student.
• Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with common IT equipment and software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to university policies.

Location & details#

• Location: Sheila & Walter Umphrey Law Center, 2nd Floor of the Law Library, Waco, Texas.
• Schedule: Flexible shifts available between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm, including Sundays from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
• Note: Parking is not permitted in the Law School lot during operational hours without a waiver.
