About the role#
The Resident Chaplain serves as a pastoral presence within an on-campus residential community. This role functions as a chaplain-in-residence, focusing on relationship building, spiritual care, and leadership. You will be a visible member of the community, supporting the spiritual development of students throughout their time at the university.
What you'll do#
- Build relationships with residents and maintain a visible presence in the hall.
- Provide pastoral care during crises, including hospital visits and support for health, academic, or relational difficulties.
- Offer spiritual direction and guidance to students.
- Refer students to the Chaplain's office, counseling center, case managers, or Title IX as needed.
- Lead spiritually formative experiences, such as small group discussions, Bible studies, and worship.
- Provide theological perspectives to residence hall staff.
- Attend weekly residence hall staff meetings and supervision sessions with the Residence Hall Director and Spiritual Life Supervisor.
- Participate in verbatim discussions and Spiritual Life didactics for professional development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a graduate student.
- Experience in residential life or ministry.
- Ability to provide pastoral care and maintain a consistent presence.
- Willingness to live in an on-campus residential community.

- This position is located in Waco, Texas.
- This is a part-time role requiring 20 hours per week.
- The term begins in Fall 2026.
