About the role#
The Tutoring Center at Baylor University is seeking two Graduate Assistants to support the Center for Academic Success and Engagement. This role involves managing daily operations, supervising student tutors, and assisting with administrative and marketing initiatives. Graduate Assistants serve as representatives of the Tutoring Center during campus events, meetings, and training sessions.
What you'll do#
- Supervise tutors and manage weekly check-in and check-out procedures.
- Organize professional development events for tutors each semester.
- Conduct research, track data, and co-author tutoring reports and forms.
- Assist with the management of social media accounts, website updates, and marketing initiatives.
- Provide guidance on department resources to students via in-person, phone, and email inquiries.
- Facilitate tutor team meetings and lead group activities, such as Tutor of the Month and senior celebrations.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including timesheet collection and front desk oversight.
- Represent the Tutoring Center at orientation and other campus events.
What you'll need#
- Current registration and enrollment in a graduate degree program.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership positions and working with student workers.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, take initiative, and provide professional customer service.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms like Zoom and Teams, and data management platforms such as Canvas and Navigate.
Location & details#
- Location: Sid Richardson Building, Waco, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Minimum of 15 hours per week, with a preference for 20 hours per week.
- Employment Term: Ongoing.
