About the role#
Baylor University is seeking two graduate assistants to support the Center for Academic Success and Engagement. This role involves administrative support, event coordination, and direct supervision of tutoring staff. You will help manage daily operations, maintain data records, and represent the Tutoring Center during campus events and meetings.
What you'll do#
- Assist with administrative tasks, including managing front desk operations and responding to inquiries via phone or email.
- Supervise tutors, oversee weekly check-in and check-out processes, and conduct team meetings.
- Organize professional development events each semester and lead group engagement activities like Tutor of the Month.
- Conduct research and perform data analysis to support departmental reporting.
- Assist with marketing initiatives, social media management, and website updates.
- Represent the Tutoring Center at orientation and other campus functions.
- Collaborate on tutoring reports, spreadsheets, and training materials.
What you'll need#
- Current registration and enrollment in a graduate degree program.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Previous experience in leadership positions or working with student staff.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with virtual platforms like Zoom and Teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, take initiative, and provide professional customer service.
- Majors preferred include Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, Human Resources, or Sociology.
Location & details#
- Location: Sid Richardson Building, Waco, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Minimum of 15 hours per week, with a preference for 20 hours.
- Employment Term: Ongoing.
