About the role#
As a Chemical Engineering Co-Op, you will work alongside engineers and plant personnel in a chemical manufacturing environment. You will gain hands-on experience with maintenance, reliability, and operational excellence initiatives while helping to translate requirements into safe and efficient engineering solutions.
What you'll do#
- Support the design, installation, and start-up of automatic process control, material handling, and distributed control systems.
- Perform and check engineering calculations using standard methods and principles.
- Assist with procurement tasks, including preparing equipment specifications and supporting bid evaluations.
- Support engineering cost, feasibility, and planning studies by researching options and providing recommendations.
- Collaborate with production and technical staff on process troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Help ensure project compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Chemical Engineering.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of study.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Ability to drive to and from the work location.
- Willingness to work in a chemical plant environment, which includes climbing stairs and ladders.
