About the role#
This summer internship provides project-based assistance in Civil Engineering at our headquarters in Bismarck, North Dakota. You will work under the supervision of a registered Land Surveyor to complete field and office tasks. This is a full-time role scheduled for approximately May 17, 2027, through August 20, 2027. You can expect to work 40 to 50 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist with field survey services including volumetric surveys for ponds, stockpiles, and landfills.
- Support construction staking surveys.
- Help establish or re-establish property corners and Public Land Survey System corners.
- Clean, maintain, and care for survey equipment.
- Organize and maintain data to meet project mapping and computational requirements using CAD and surveying software.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver license.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Current full-time enrollment or recent graduation (within 12 months) in a two-year or four-year program for Surveying, GIS, Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
- Two-year students must have completed at least two semesters; four-year students must have completed at least two years.
- Submit a transcript with your application.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience is preferred.
- Additional certifications or relevant coursework are a plus.
