About the role#
This internship provides engineering support at the Dry Fork Station in Gillette, Wyoming. You will assist station staff and act as an on-site liaison for engineering projects based at headquarters. This is a full-time, paid position for the summer of 2027, running from May 17 through August 20.
What you'll do#
- Manage lower-level modification work order engineering projects.
- Verify redlines of modifications following the Management of Change procedure.
- Coordinate with contractors in the field and write job scopes for external work.
- Assist with system performance testing and perform inspections of power plant systems.
- Handle other assigned duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license.
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a four-year mechanical, civil, chemical, electrical, or energy systems engineering program (EAC/ABET accredited).
- Completion of your sophomore year or graduation within the last 12 months.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- You must attach a copy of your transcript to your application for it to be reviewed.
- Previous internship experience, relevant work history, or additional certifications in your field are preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to work at heights up to 150 feet, pass a respirator qualification, and work in environments involving dust, heat, noise, or confined spaces.
