About the role#
Base Power Company is looking for an intern to join the Manufacturing Controls Engineering team. You will support the construction of new manufacturing lines for battery backup systems. This role offers exposure to the design, testing, and troubleshooting of systems that drive production operations. You will work alongside engineers to learn how large-scale production systems are launched from the ground up.
What you'll do#
- Support the design, build, and launch of manufacturing lines for new energy storage products.
- Learn to develop and test controls systems that combine PLC logic with modern software.
- Gain hands-on experience with full-scale production equipment during commissioning and ramp-up.
- Assist with troubleshooting and maintaining electro-mechanical equipment on the production floor.
- Participate in supplier design reviews, testing activities, and cross-functional team meetings.
- Contribute to the development of hardware and software standards for future equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Academic or project experience with PLCs, industrial automation, or robotics.
- Interest in programming languages such as Python or platforms like Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
- Familiarity with tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or schematic design software is a plus.
- Practical skills with hand tools, diagnostic equipment like multimeters, or lab projects.
- Curiosity and problem-solving skills.
