About the role#
The BT RISE Internship at Barnes & Thornburg LLP introduces students to the daily operations of a law firm. You will work under the supervision of an HR Generalist and an assigned mentor to gain hands-on experience. This is a full-time, paid summer program lasting 10 consecutive weeks.
What you'll do#
- Perform HR functional and administrative duties on a rotational basis.
- Complete both short and long-term projects aligned with your field of study.
- Collaborate with the HR team, other departments, and fellow interns.
- Handle data entry, analysis, and process documentation.
- Participate in internal and external meetings to build business acumen.
- Observe strict confidentiality regarding HR, client, and firm matters.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 2- or 4-year degree program, specifically in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- Status as a sophomore, junior, or senior for the Fall 2027 semester.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to proofread for grammatical or typographical errors.
- Professionalism when interacting with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with standard office equipment like computers, copiers, and scanning tools.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site at our Indianapolis, Indiana office.
- The role requires full-time availability during core business hours for the duration of the 10-week summer term in 2027.
