About the role#
The BT RISE Internship program introduces students to the daily operations of a law firm. As a Data Intern, you will work under the supervision of the Software Services Director and an assigned mentor. You will contribute to projects that support firm priorities and business initiatives while gaining practical experience in your field of study.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, organize, and validate data to ensure quality control.
- Support data analysis and reporting by identifying trends, patterns, and inconsistencies.
- Assist in developing and maintaining data workflows, processes, and documentation.
- Contribute to the implementation of the firm data lake, including data integration and governance tasks.
- Collaborate with team members, business stakeholders, and other interns on assigned projects.
- Attend internal and external meetings to learn how data supports business decisions.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of all firm and client information.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 2-4 year undergraduate degree program in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field.
- Status as a sophomore, junior, or senior in the fall of 2027.
- A basic understanding of data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, data analysis tools, databases, or data visualization is preferred.

- Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10 consecutive weeks).
- Employment: Full-time and paid.
