About the role#
The Graduate Student Tutor supports students in graduate and medical education by building a strong academic foundation through structured peer tutoring. This role focuses on reinforcing key course concepts, modeling effective learning strategies, and maintaining a supportive environment for peers.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate group tutoring sessions focused on difficult content in foundational courses.
- Review course material and clarify complex topics to encourage active learning.
- Serve as an academic role model and offer encouragement to peers navigating graduate school.
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, including attendance and session focus.
- Participate in required tutor training and professional development.
- Collaborate with program administrators and faculty to ensure tutoring aligns with course content and student needs.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- One year of applicable graduate level coursework.
- Current status as an active student in good standing.
- Approval to tutor from a Program Director or Course Director.
- Academic background in Psychology, Communications, Nursing, Public Health, or Philosophy.
