About the role#
Balfour Beatty is hiring interns and co-ops for our 2026-2027 program in the Carolinas. This position offers a chance to gain hands-on experience in construction management while working on-site. You will support our project teams by handling administrative tasks, monitoring project progress, and learning core operations.
What you'll do#
- Manage project budgets by controlling expenditures and coordinating owner and subcontractor billings.
- Review and process submittal data and shop drawings while ensuring they align with the project schedule.
- Maintain RFI logs and change request logs.
- Monitor weekly and monthly status reports and subcontractor meeting minutes.
- Learn about Safety and Quality Control programs and help coordinate actions to address site problems.
- Assist with tracking project changes, clarifications, and directives on as-built plans.
- Attend meetings with architect and owner representatives to observe project management processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering program.
- Ability to learn new skills and technical knowledge quickly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Good self-organization and management habits.
- Previous commercial construction internship or work experience is preferred.
- Willingness to participate in training, seminars, and team meetings.
