About the role#
Balfour Beatty is hiring interns and co-ops for our Florida team. You will gain hands-on experience in construction management while working on active projects. This is a paid, full-time position available for the Fall 2026, Winter 2027, or Summer 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Manage project budgets by controlling expenditures and coordinating billings.
- Support Safety and Quality Control programs by addressing project issues.
- Review submittal data, shop drawings, and coordinate deliveries with the Superintendent.
- Monitor status reports, subcontractor meeting minutes, and change orders.
- Track RFI logs and change request logs.
- Assist with company procedures and correspondence under the guidance of the Office Manager.
- Update as-built plans with changes, clarifications, and directives.
- Attend meetings with architects and owners alongside the Project Engineer to track progress and action items.
- Participate in company training, seminars, and task team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Construction Technology program.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to organize your work and learn new skills quickly.
- Knowledge of construction details regarding items like doors, casework, metals, and specialties.
- Prior internship or work experience in commercial construction is preferred but not required.
