About the role#
Ayres Associates is hiring a Land Survey Intern in Madison, Wisconsin. This is a full-time, paid position that offers students the chance to gain practical experience in civil engineering. You will work on-site and support our survey teams on a variety of projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Survey Crew Chief and Professional Land Surveyor with technical survey tasks.
- Work on one and two-person survey crews using GPS, robotic total stations, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), and terrestrial scanners.
- Perform regular maintenance and care for survey equipment.
- Process field data, perform minor drafting, and help prepare project documents in the office.
- Be prepared for occasional overtime and out-of-town travel as projects require.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a two-year associate degree in Land Surveying or Civil Engineering Technology, or a four-year degree in Land Surveying.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel to the office and various project sites.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including walking on uneven terrain and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to following OSHA and general safety practices.
