About the role#
Ayres Associates is hiring a Land Survey Intern in Waukesha, Wisconsin. This is a full-time, paid position that offers students a chance to gain hands-on experience in civil engineering. You will work on one or two-person survey crews and assist with various field and office tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Survey Crew Chief and Professional Land Surveyor with technical tasks.
- Operate survey equipment including GPS, robotic total stations, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), and terrestrial scanners.
- Maintain survey equipment on a regular basis.
- Process field data and perform minor drafting in the office.
- Assist with the preparation of project documents.
- Travel to project sites and work overtime as required.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a two-year associate degree in Land Surveying or Civil Engineering Technology, or a four-year degree in Land Surveying.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Reliable transportation to get to the office and project sites.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and walk over uneven terrain.
- Commitment to following OSHA and site safety practices.
