About the role#
Avient Corporation is seeking an MBA student for a summer internship within the Operational Excellence team. This role provides exposure to operations management, sourcing, logistics, and manufacturing. You will receive coaching from leadership and gain insight into Lean Six Sigma training. Successful completion of this internship may lead to an opportunity to join the Operational Excellence Leadership Development Program.
What you'll do#
- Lead and participate in cross-functional project teams focused on operations and supply chain.
- Analyze business cases to provide recommendations to management.
- Assist in creating internal processes for areas like strategic supplier management, contract management, and operations planning.
- Interface with the Operational Excellence department and various business units to ensure improvements are sustained.
- Identify and develop metrics to track performance and support improvements.
- Interact with senior management and build a professional network across the organization.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an MBA with a focus on Operations or Supply Chain Management.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including experience acquiring and analyzing data from multiple sources.
- Clear communication and presentation skills suitable for engaging with all levels of the organization.
- Experience with project management and data analysis.
- Ability to take initiative and operate in ambiguous environments.
- Three years of work experience is preferred.
