About the role#
This is a 12-week, full-time summer internship based in Arlington, Virginia. You will support the government relations team by tracking legislative and regulatory developments. This role provides hands-on experience in the defense industry while helping the company advocate for its programs.
What you'll do#
- Compile daily analyses of political news, legislative updates, and regulatory activities.
- Track defense authorization and appropriations.
- Support the Legislative Affairs team with briefing materials, content creation, and engagement tracking.
- Monitor congressional hearings and meetings.
- Help plan and prepare for executive engagements in the Washington, DC area.
- Assist with visits by Members of Congress and staff to company facilities.
- Coordinate the execution of the company Political Action Committee.
- Support legislative strategies to assist business growth initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status is required.
- Previous internship experience and familiarity with legislative processes are preferred.
