About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at AV, you will join our team in Sunrise, Florida. This is a full-time, paid position that provides hands-on experience in the design and development of mechanical systems. You will work directly with our engineering staff on projects ranging from airframes to electro-mechanical assemblies.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design of mechanical components, systems, airframes, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Create and modify 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Support simulation and analysis tasks using tools such as SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.
- Participate in prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing using in-house tools.
- Generate technical drawings and bills of materials following industry drafting standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Basic experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with mechanical components like machined parts, sheet metal, plastic parts, or composite materials.
- Exposure to hands-on prototyping, lab testing, or mechanical assembly through academic or personal projects.

- This position is based on-site in Sunrise, Florida.

- This position requires compliance with ITAR regulations, which necessitates that applicants qualify as a U.S. person.
