About the role#
The Membership Intern supports the Austin PBS Membership team in growing and engaging the community of donors who sustain public media. This role provides hands-on experience in nonprofit development, donor engagement, and fundraising operations under the supervision of the Membership Manager. The intern will contribute to communications, campaign planning, and data management tasks that support the organization's mission.
What you'll do#
- Produce engaging copy for fundraising and membership-related emails.
- Assist with managing the project flow for campaigns, including raffles, pledge drives, vehicle donations, and planned giving.
- Support the planning and implementation of the Winter Membership On-Air Fund Drive and Giving Tuesday.
- Evaluate, edit, and create website content related to membership initiatives.
- Assist with membership database and fundraising operations, including data quality reviews, campaign preparation, and constituent record maintenance.
- Provide support at occasional daytime and evening events.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student status at an accredited college or university.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Canva is preferred.
- Willingness to collaborate, take constructive feedback, and learn new systems.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Health, or Journalism.
Location & details#
- Location: Austin, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 7 to December 11, 2026).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (in-person availability required two days a week).
- Commitment: 15 to 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
