About the role#
Austin PBS is seeking a Social Media Intern to support the station's promotional efforts and digital presence. This role involves working directly with the Social Media Manager to create, schedule, and manage content across various platforms. Interns will gain experience in social media strategy and community engagement while contributing to the station's mission of educating and entertaining Central Texans.
What you'll do#
- Write copy for social media posts and develop toolkits for brand partners.
- Edit photos and video content for station channels and specific programs.
- Manage the scheduling of social posts across multiple platforms.
- Maintain internal social media editorial calendars.
- Assist with live event social media coverage.
- Participate in marketing and content planning meetings.
- Support the social media and video team during content shoots.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student in a degree program related to Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, or Graphic Design.
- Ability to commit to 15-20 hours per week for a minimum of 13 weeks.
- Strong communication skills.
- A portfolio featuring work samples, such as a website or PDF, is required for consideration.

- Location: Austin, Texas (On-site).
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 7, 2026, to December 11, 2026).
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
- This is a paid, part-time internship.
