About the role#
Austin PBS is seeking an Audio Intern to support the production of studio and field-based programming. Working directly with the Lead Audio Engineer and Production Coordinator, this role provides an immersive experience in live audio production, mixing for broadcast, and post-production workflows. This position is ideal for students interested in broadcast production, live sound, music recording, and multimedia storytelling.
What you'll do#
- Assist audio staff with pre-production, studio, field, and post-production tasks.
- Prepare input lists, stage plots, microphones, and gear for studio and field shoots.
- Observe or assist with mixing audio for live audiences and final recording mixes.
- Participate in sweetening, file delivery, and other post-production processes.
- Collaborate with producers, engineers, and crew to support high-quality audio for programming.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student in an accredited college or university.
- Availability in-person for a minimum of 14 weeks.
- Strong interest in broadcast and internet media, live events, or music production.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and general computer proficiency.
- Strong communication skills.
- Majors considered: Communications, Media Studies, Art, Graphic Design, Psychology, Political Science, and History.

- Location: Austin, Texas (On-site).
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 7, 2026 – December 11, 2026).
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
- Status: Part-time, paid internship.
