About the role#
Austin PBS is seeking a motivated undergraduate student to join the Human Resources team for the Fall 2026 term. This role provides hands-on experience in core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and internship program coordination. You will work closely with the HR Generalist to support a positive work environment and gain exposure to HR practices within a nonprofit media organization.
What you'll do#
- Assist in coordinating the Austin PBS internship program, including recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling.
- Help plan and execute engagement initiatives for employees and interns, such as professional development events and recognition programs.
- Support recruitment efforts by posting job openings, tracking applicants, and maintaining records.
- Provide administrative support through document preparation and data maintenance.
- Assist in the development of HR communications, including newsletters and onboarding materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field at an accredited college or university.
- Availability for the full 13-week duration of the internship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A demonstrated interest in human resources, organizational culture, recruitment, or nonprofit management.

- Compensation: $20 per hour.
