About the role#
Austin PBS is seeking a Marketing & Media Intern to support marketing initiatives, media planning, and underwriting contract management. This role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, public media promotion, and business operations. The position requires a 15-20 hour weekly commitment for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Support marketing efforts across web, social media, email campaigns, and content creation.
- Assist in developing and implementing media plans for promotional campaigns.
- Research potential underwriters and assist in drafting underwriting proposals.
- Help manage underwriting contracts and track sponsorship commitments.
- Analyze media and marketing performance data to optimize outreach efforts.
- Assist in event coordination and outreach initiatives.
- Collaborate with staff and station representatives on marketing strategies.
- Develop materials for the national PBS Learning Media website and content management system.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited degree program in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or Media Studies.
- Availability for a minimum of 13 weeks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Interest in public media, nonprofit work, and community engagement.
- Basic knowledge of media planning or advertising is a plus.
