About the role#
The Audiology Extern will complete their clinical practice requirements for an Au.D. degree while gaining hands-on experience in hearing aid fittings, service, and patient care. You will work under the guidance of an assigned Preceptor to assess patients and provide treatment in accordance with university and ASHA standards. This position is a paid, full-time opportunity based in Baton Rouge.
What you'll do#
- Treat and fit patients following the All American Hearing patient journey.
- Perform audiologic assessments, hearing aid fittings, and aural rehabilitation.
- Assess tinnitus and balance disorders.
- Provide care for both adult and pediatric patients.
- Enter SOAP notes into Hearing Fusion for every patient visit.
- Assist with office management, including marketing efforts and maintaining clinical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA infection control regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment and good standing in an accredited Audiology graduate program.
- Eligibility for the externship year per university requirements.
- At least one year of prior clinical practice experience.
- Ability to obtain Audiology and Dispensing Temporary Licensure in Louisiana.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
