About the role#
The Sponsorship Activation Intern will gain experience with the Chesapeake Baysox. This role provides an opportunity to learn how a professional sports organization operates while building skills in communication, sponsor fulfillment, and activation. This is a part-time, unpaid internship for students receiving college credit.
What you'll do#
- Shadow Sponsorship Sales Account Managers to learn the business.
- Assist with partnership fulfillment by tracking deadlines, deliverables, and partner communication.
- Research and identify potential business for sponsorship.
- Maintain partner documentation, including contact information and activation activity.
- Create documentation logs for Proof of Performance reports.
- Represent the organization at community events and appearances.
- Work Chesapeake Baysox home games, including taking and inventorying photos of in-game activations.
- Meet and maintain relationships with sponsors during games and events.
- Assist the marketing and sponsorship teams with client check-ins and activation execution.
- Develop professional phone manners and service skills.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Working for academic credit in Sport Management, Business Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Knowledge of SponsorCX and Sponsor United is a plus.
