Electrical Engineering Intern - Fall

About the role#

Atomic Semi is looking for Electrical Engineering Interns for the Fall 2027 term. You will join a team focused on rebuilding the chip fabrication process from the ground up. This role involves developing specialized hardware such as lithography systems, deposition tools, vacuum chambers, plasma etching systems, and nanometer-precision motion control. You will be expected to identify technical challenges, prototype solutions, and move through design cycles quickly to deliver finished systems.

What you'll do#

• Design, prototype, and build semiconductor fabrication equipment.
• Perform circuit design and electrical engineering tasks.
• Conduct detailed analysis and simulations to evaluate electromechanical designs.
• Produce mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with vendors to source necessary components and materials.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong foundation in electrical engineering, including experience with KiCad or Altium, microcontrollers, embedded systems, and digital circuits.
• Hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly design and analysis gained through coursework, previous internships, or personal projects.
• Demonstrated ability to prototype and complete design cycles rapidly.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
