About the role#
Atlas Aerospace is hiring a Summer Manufacturing Engineer Intern in Wichita, Kansas. You will review customer drawings, specifications, and models to help create and execute manufacturing processes. This role involves developing manufacturing plans for parts and assemblies, creating visual work instructions, and collaborating with internal teams to resolve technical issues while meeting quality and delivery requirements.
What you'll do#
- Analyze technical documents including drawings, manufacturing routers, and parts lists (BOMS).
- Use CATIA software for design, analysis, and drafting.
- Review customer change notifications and update documentation accordingly.
- Examine engineering and production data to propose process improvements.
- Develop planning based on customer requirements and establish Product Configuration Control Information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
- Experience with MRP systems and various manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with portable measuring equipment.
- Strong communication skills for working with different departments and the shop floor.
