About the role#
Atlas Aerospace is seeking a Summer Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join the team in Wichita. This position focuses on the creation and execution of manufacturing processes through the review of customer drawings, specifications, and models. You will contribute to the development of manufacturing plans for parts and assemblies, create visual work instructions, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical issues while meeting quality and delivery requirements.
What you'll do#
- Analyze drawings, manufacturing routers, parts lists, and other technical documents.
- Use CATIA software for design, analysis, and drafting tasks.
- Review customer change notifications and update documentation accordingly.
- Analyze engineering and production data to propose process improvements.
- Develop planning based on customer requirements and establish Product Configuration Control Information.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret customer drawings and technical documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Experience with or knowledge of MRP systems.
- Understanding of various manufacturing processes.
- Capability to use portable measuring equipment.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with departments and the shop floor.
