About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Water Infrastructure Engineering Intern to join our team in Henderson, Nevada for the Summer 2027 term. This is a paid, part-time internship that provides hands-on experience and mentorship from professionals in the engineering services industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and design documents for water infrastructure projects.
- Support engineering studies and planning activities by collecting data, performing basic analyses, and completing routine calculations.
- Evaluate design alternatives and document findings under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Prepare portions of technical reports, permit application materials, and project documentation.
- Assist with data collection, research, and analysis related to site conditions, regulatory requirements, and project feasibility.
- Support construction-phase activities by reviewing project records, tracking progress, and assisting with document management.
- Create basic graphic presentations, exhibits, and supporting materials for project deliverables.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 60 hours towards a civil or environmental engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship.
- Basic computer skills for entering data into spreadsheets or databases.
- Math skills for performing simple calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation is preferred.
