About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Transportation Planning Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in our Henderson, Nevada office. You will work on real client projects and gain exposure to the full project lifecycle. This is a paid, part-time, on-site role.
What you'll do#
- Support transportation planning tasks including traffic modeling, data collection, safety analysis, and public engagement.
- Assist with multi-modal planning and design projects.
- Prepare technical documentation, project reports, and presentations.
- Analyze transportation data to inform project recommendations and planning discussions.
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, client workshops, and project discussions.
- Use mapping and data visualization tools to communicate findings.
- Collaborate with team members to develop transportation solutions.
- Engage in mentorship and professional development opportunities to build your technical and communication skills.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Interest in transportation systems, mobility, roadway safety, and community planning.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with mapping, transportation modeling tools, or data visualization software is a plus.
