About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Resilience and Emergency Management Intern to join our team in Tampa. This role supports a unit of over 100 staff members focused on disaster and resilience challenges. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting with infrastructure initiatives, grant projects, and emergency management planning for public-sector clients.
What you'll do#
- Support resilience, emergency management, disaster recovery, and planning projects through research and data collection.
- Review, organize, and track grant applications, reimbursement requests, and project records to ensure they meet program requirements.
- Prepare project deliverables including correspondence, meeting summaries, presentations, reports, and briefing materials.
- Maintain project information, datasets, dashboards, and SharePoint sites.
- Conduct research and analysis, including data visualization, mapping, GIS support, and reviews of program guidance.
- Perform quality assurance and control reviews to ensure document accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with grants specialists, engineers, project managers, and stakeholders on project execution and public engagement.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours toward a degree by the start of the internship.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools like Microsoft Copilot.
- Ability to learn SharePoint and other internal project systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with data entry, document review, research, and managing multiple assignments with attention to detail.

- This is an on-site internship based in Tampa, Florida.
- The position is for the Summer 2027 term.
