About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Resilience and Emergency Management Intern to join our team in Orlando, Florida. This position offers hands-on experience supporting resilience, emergency management, disaster recovery, grants, and planning projects for public-sector clients. You will work within a unit of over 100 staff members focused on addressing disaster and resilience challenges.
What you'll do#
- Support project execution through research, data collection, document development, meeting coordination, and follow-up activities.
- Review, organize, and track grant applications, reimbursement requests, project records, and related documentation to ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Prepare project deliverables including correspondence, meeting summaries, presentations, reports, maps, and briefing materials.
- Maintain project information systems, including datasets, dashboards, SharePoint sites, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Conduct research and analysis, such as data compilation, data visualization, mapping, GIS support, and technical summaries of policies and resilience topics.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews to ensure the accuracy and consistency of project documents and deliverables.
- Collaborate with grants specialists, planners, engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to support public engagement and site visits.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours toward a degree from an accredited college or university by the start of the internship.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools, such as Microsoft Copilot.
- Ability to learn SharePoint and other project-specific systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with spreadsheets, data entry, document review, and managing multiple assignments with attention to detail.
