About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Resilience and Emergency Management Intern for our New York office. This role supports a team of over 100 staff members who address disaster and resilience challenges across the country. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting with planning, disaster recovery, grants, and infrastructure projects for public-sector clients.
What you'll do#
- Support project teams through research, data collection, and document development.
- Review, organize, and track grant applications, reimbursement requests, and project records.
- Prepare reports, presentations, meeting summaries, and other project deliverables.
- Maintain project information, including datasets, dashboards, and databases.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews on project documents and data.
- Conduct research and analysis, including data compilation and GIS support.
- Collaborate with grants specialists, planners, engineers, and stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours toward a degree in Political Science, Environmental Engineering, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools.
- Ability to learn SharePoint and other internal project systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with spreadsheets, data entry, document review, and research.
- Exposure to ArcGIS, Power BI, Smartsheet, Adobe Acrobat, or FEMA grant systems is preferred.
