About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Resilience and Emergency Management Intern to join our team in Orlando, Florida. This role supports a unit of over 100 staff members tackling disaster and resilience challenges. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting with resilience, emergency management, disaster recovery, grants, and planning initiatives for public-sector clients.
What you'll do#
- Support project research, data collection, document development, and meeting coordination.
- Review, organize, and track grant applications, reimbursement requests, and project records.
- Prepare project deliverables including correspondence, meeting summaries, presentations, reports, and maps.
- Maintain project information in databases, dashboards, spreadsheets, and SharePoint sites.
- Conduct research and analysis, including data visualization, mapping, and GIS support.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews to ensure document compliance.
- Collaborate with grants specialists, planners, engineers, and project managers on project execution and public engagement.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours toward a degree by the start of the internship.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools like Microsoft Copilot.
- Ability to learn SharePoint and other project-specific systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with data entry, document review, research, and managing multiple assignments with attention to detail.
