About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Resilience and Emergency Management Intern for our Tallahassee, FL office. This role supports a team of over 100 staff members working on disaster recovery, grants, and infrastructure initiatives for public-sector clients. You will gain hands-on experience through research, data collection, and project coordination.
What you'll do#
- Support resilience, emergency management, and planning projects through research and document development.
- Review, track, and maintain grant applications, reimbursement requests, and project records.
- Prepare correspondence, meeting summaries, presentations, reports, and other project deliverables.
- Manage project information, including datasets, dashboards, SharePoint sites, and spreadsheets.
- Perform research and analysis, including data compilation, mapping, GIS support, and technical summaries.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews to ensure project accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with grants specialists, planners, engineers, and project managers to support project execution and client engagement.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours toward a degree by the start of the internship.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools.
- Ability to learn SharePoint and other internal project systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with data entry, document review, and managing multiple assignments.
- No prior professional experience is required.
Location & details#
- Location: Tallahassee, Florida (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $23 to $29 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
- Employment type: Part-time, paid internship.
