Physics Student

About the role#

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Physics student to join the Engineering division for the Fall 2026 term. This role offers hands-on experience supporting the Core Physics Team and broader engineering projects. You will gain practical exposure to industry standards and the application of engineering principles within the nuclear sector.

What you'll do#

• Assist engineers and the Core Physics Team with daily tasks, including preparing inputs for reactor physics codes and supporting safety and design analyses.
• Contribute to the development and assembly of engineering, physics, and math deliverables for nuclear and conventional systems.
• Support the adaptation or modification of computer codes for specialized applications.
• Interface with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate tasks, facilitate document reviews, and attend technical meetings.
• Assist with departmental administrative tasks while contributing to a collaborative work environment.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Physics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering program at an accredited Canadian university.
• A strong foundation in physics and mathematics, with desirable knowledge in reactor, nuclear, or particle physics.
• Proficiency with analytical and design tools such as MATLAB, ETAP, and MathCAD.
• Coding skills in languages such as C++, Python, or FORTRAN; experience with Linux is an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication, multitasking, and coordination skills.
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance is mandatory.
