About the role#
This summer internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in construction field engineering. You will work with our team in Oklahoma City to support engineering projects and learn about the lifecycle of infrastructure development. This is a paid, part-time position.
What you'll do#
- Assist in reviewing engineering drawings and shop drawings for conformance with specifications.
- Collect and analyze data using established procedures and perform routine engineering calculations.
- Participate in engineering investigations and planning work.
- Observe on-site construction procedures and collect samples for quality control testing.
- Prepare assigned sections of reports, permit applications, and work progression documents.
- Research the feasibility of alternative design approaches and site conditions.
- Assist with recordkeeping and the generation of progress reports.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours toward a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field by the start of the internship.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Math skills sufficient to perform simple calculations.
- A willingness to learn.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation is preferred.
