About the role#
ATCS is hiring Civil Engineering Interns for the Summer 2027 program. These are full-time, paid positions that offer exposure to technical and administrative project tasks. You will work alongside our staff to gain experience on real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Support engineers and staff with various project tasks.
- Use computer-assisted engineering software to prepare design documents.
- Collect, prepare, and analyze project data.
- Collaborate with team members to finish tasks.
- Provide administrative support to keep projects moving.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You work well in a team environment.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Microstation is a plus.

- This role is based in Newport News, Virginia.
- The work is hybrid and on-site.
- This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027.
